Christmas Tourtiere Recipe with Chef Connie
My mother in law, Cyndi, grew up on a beef farm in Quebec and first introduced me to tourtiere.
The rich savoury filling pairs perfectly with it's tender crust. It fills your belly up just right on a cold winter day.
Here, Chef Connie shows you how to make enough to feed a crowd or just enough for a small family. Even little personal pies for your kids or grandkids!
Here's the coles notes for the ingredients you'll need:
Meat from Red Door Ranch :)
1lb ground beef
1/2lb ground pork
Filling
1 potato
1tsp salt
1 onion
4 cloves garlic
1/2 cup celery
1/2 cup carrots
1 cup potato cooking water
Spices
2tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp sage
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cloves
She also adds in a bonus Winter Cranberry Sauce recipe to this video. You can almost smell it through the screen..mmmm.
